Here is your opportunity to tell us what you think about the village of Spratton and the website... Spratton In May 2008 I visited the village of Spratton and to meet my English relatives for the first time. I adored the quaintness and cleanliness of Spratton. It was like stepping back into time long passed. Everyone I met was very pleasant and friendly. Posted by Baqrbara Bailey on 24 August 2011 Hairdressers and lovely clients I have been working under an apprenticeship in the hairdressers in spratton feb 2011, unfortunately yesterday evening I was told by the proprietor she could no longer afford to keep me on. This has come of somewhat a devastating blow to me as I'd met so many lovely people since starting. I wish to say a big thank you to all the clients and people that I have met through my time there. Who knows what the future may bring for me. Take care all x x x Posted by mature student on 24 August 2011 Buckby Family My Grand mother Caroline Jane Buckby was born in Spratton and Married to Abraham Smith in the old Spratton Church in 1882. I was born in Mount Morgan Queensland Australia & now live in Fremantle Western Australia with my wife Judy and Family. We visited Spratton in 1999 and met the lovely old lady who looked after the Church gardens. She lived in the 16th century house behind the church She insisted we stay at her home that night. I wonder if she is still alive as she would be 84 now and if there are any of the Smith /Buckby family still in Spratton with any history of the family and would like to make contact. Thank you Posted by Kelvyn Smith on 24 July 2011 Old Spratton families Both my grandparents` families originate from Spratton- (Letts & Norman). I was talking to my dad today (Norman Francis Letts) age 82, who remembers his grandfather being a travelling shoe-repairer in the village. He used to travel by horse & cart around the villages. I think my own grandparents William Francis Letts & Bertha May Norman first met there & moved to Kingsthorpe after marriage. Posted by Christine Weatherley (nee Letts) on 10 February 2011 |
